Akela Ground Engineering, a Scottish-based ground engineering specialist, has expanded its operations into Ireland with the establishment of a new base in County Armagh.
The move follows the successful launch of the company's innovative ABeam system in Scotland, a unique precast concrete beam system that significantly accelerates housebuilding.
ABeam utilises a specially designed mechanical joint, enabling rapid installation of foundation ground beams and reducing reliance on weather conditions. This innovative approach has already demonstrated significant time and cost savings for housebuilders in Scotland, contributing to increased housing delivery.
Akela Ground Engineering Ireland will now bring this innovative technology to the Irish market, addressing the significant housing challenges facing the country.
Barry Christy has been appointed as Operations Manager for Akela Ground Engineering Ireland. With extensive experience in the ground engineering sector, Mr. Christy will oversee all operations and drive the company's growth in the Irish market.
Will Payne, Managing Director at Akela Ground Engineering, said: "Our expansion into Ireland marks a significant milestone for Akela Ground Engineering on our growth journey. We have worked hard over the last twelve months to launch our ABeam system and have successfully demonstrated its impact to leading housebuilders.
"We're excited to offer this service to developers in Ireland who will also be looking for ways to drive efficiencies and deliver more new homes faster and sustainability. Ireland offers an exciting market opportunity for us and we’re looking forward to having conversations with prospective clients."
