Morrison Construction's Building Central business has partnered with the Glasgow Science Centre to provide free school memberships to selected local schools for the current academic year.
The initiative aims to inspire young people in STEM subjects by offering access to valuable learning resources.
Participating schools will benefit from:
• Professional learning opportunities for teachers.
• Access to engaging video content and comprehensive lesson plans.
• Opportunities to connect with industry experts.
• Pupil access to interactive Learning Labs at the Science Centre, covering topics like space discovery, renewable energy, and human biology.
• High school pupils can explore future careers through the STEM Futures programme, including access to Scotland's only full-motion flight simulators at the Newton Flight Academy.
The selected schools are located near Morrison Construction Building Central's projects and offices across the Central Belt and Southern Scotland, strengthening community links and providing valuable educational support.
Jim Johnstone, Head of Communities and Social Impact for Morrison Construction Building Central, commented: "The Glasgow Science Centre is a fantastic resource for the region and Scotland as a whole, and we are delighted to be partnering with them. Inspiring children into STEM careers is a key part of what we do as a business, and this partnership can only help us create opportunities for future generations."
Stephen Breslin, Chief Executive Officer for Glasgow Science Centre, added: "I welcome our continued partnership with Morrison Construction and the opportunities this will bring – not just for more children to engage with STEM learning – but for Glasgow Science Centre to work hand-in-hand with industries to equip the next generation with the skills needed to drive forward growth and innovation.
"At Glasgow Science Centre, we believe that no young person should face barriers to careers in STEM. With the demand for skills in science and technology continuing to grow, it has never been more important for government, industry, and educators to work together to bolster STEM attainment in a way that ensures no one is left behind.
"As a charity, none of the vital work we are able to achieve at Glasgow Science Centre would be possible without the funding of our valued partners, like Morrison Construction, who enable us to drive forward change."
