Arc-Tech (Scotland) has successfully completed a £6m Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services package for the Lost Shore Surf Resort in Edinburgh. The state-of-the-art resort, which opened its doors earlier this month, features a range of amenities, including a wave pool, luxury lodges, and wellness facilities.

Arc-Tech's contribution to the project involved the installation of a variety of M&E systems, including:

• An innovative air-source heat pump farm

• Solar PV panels

• EV charging points

• Air conditioning systems

• Security, data, and fire safety systems

• Low voltage power and electrical power management systems for the Wave Machine

The project generated 25 full-time jobs and provided valuable training opportunities for five trade apprentices. This investment in skills development highlights Arc-Tech's commitment to nurturing the next generation of M&E professionals.

Arc-Tech (Scotland) managing director John Gallacher, said: "I am in no doubt that Lost Shore Surf Resort is going to be a fantastic boost to Edinburgh and Scotland's tourism sector, and we are delighted to have played our part on behalf of our longstanding client, Malcolm Group.

"The breadth of services that have been installed is a testament to our in-house expertise which we have strategically developed to support projects of this nature over the last eight years.

"It has also been a great privilege to see the work of our apprentices first-hand; I know they will be extremely proud to be associated with Lost Shore Surf Resort, particularly our 1st years who embraced the challenge of this specialist working environment and delivered an excellent service that will stand them in great stead for the remaining years of their programme."

W H Malcolm director, Jim McAlister, said: "The Lost Shore project was always going to be a challenging job from start to finish. To help us complete the work, we needed to select the most helpful and technically competent of our partnering contractors.

"Arc-Tech assisted in the tendering process, right through design and build, to completion, with the professional manner they had produced in previous contracts. Their team were part of the project and worked closely with us, and the communication was so good, that the work was final accounted before the handover date."
