David McClure of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland has been named a Regional Award winner in the Large Builder category at the prestigious Pride in the Job Awards 2024, held at The Hilton in Glasgow on 4 October.
Organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the UK's leading provider of new home warranties and insurance, the awards celebrate excellence in housebuilding.
In addition to his regional win for his work at Castle Gate in Maidenhill, David also earned a coveted Seal of Excellence Award, placing him among the top ten in the competition. His colleague, Stuart Gillespie, similarly secured a top-ten spot for his work at the Oakwood View development in Hamilton.
Success at last week's event topped off a record ten individual Pride in the Job awards for Taylor Wimpey's site managers in Scotland in this year's competition.
Now in its 44th year and widely considered the 'Oscars' of the house-building industry, Pride in the Job has become the benchmark for exceptional site managers. Judging is rigorous, with assessment across six key areas: consistency, attention to detail, leadership, interpretation of drawings and specifications, technical expertise and health and safety.
Pride in the Job has five categories: small, medium and large builders, multi-storey for projects up to seven storeys, and high-rise for projects more than seven.
Brian Henderson, Production Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, comments: “Achieving and maintaining the highest levels of quality and customer service is very important to our business, and we are delighted and very proud that David McClure’s exemplary record of years of quality and consistency has been recognised by the NHBC in these prestigious awards this year.
Mr McClure, Site Manager at Castle Gate and this year's NHBC Large Category Regional Award winner in Scotland, said: "Winning this award is a huge honour and something I've been striving towards for many years. Along with my team at Castle Gate in Maidenhill, I am passionate about delivering homes of the highest quality, and I'm delighted that the NHBC has acknowledged our consistent efforts. I’m looking forward to the next round of the competition when the regional winners will be judged in the Pride in the Job Supreme Awards."
