300 New Homes Planned For Robroyston

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and Caledonian Properties have jointly submitted an application to Glasgow City Council seeking Approval of Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSC) for a development of 300 new homes on a site off Robroyston Road in Robroyston, Glasgow.

Planning Permission in Principle (PPiP) has already been secured for the development, and this detailed planning application sets out comprehensive proposals for the housing mix, landscaping, and building materials.

In addition to an impressive choice of two, three, four, and five-bedroom new homes, Lumloch View will provide generous public open space connected by green networks that include new pedestrian and cycle links, pocket parks, and an equipped play area for the enjoyment of the new and existing community. Plans also include providing a new community space and the associated infrastructure required for a development of this scale.

In addition, and through engagement with the Community Council and other local stakeholders, approximately five acres of land at Briarcroft will be transferred from Taylor Wimpey to the community. This will help facilitate a range of new community uses, including a garden, exercise area and memorial.

The developers have also agreed to provide safe crossing points over Robroyston Road, which will connect to the existing and improved footpath network. This will allow the community to safely access schools, public transport, local services, and facilities by walking and cycling rather than by private car.

Martin Findlay, Technical Director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, commented: "Along with our development partners Caledonian Properties Ltd, since our Planning Permission in Principle was granted, we have been working towards refining our final proposals for the development. As a result, we firmly believe that our proposed Lumloch View development will integrate well with the established community.

"We aim to provide new open space, green networks and landscaping, which, together with the community proposals for land at Briarcroft, will present an opportunity to improve health and wellbeing in the area.

"Furthermore, in addition to an impressive range of new homes, our proposed development will also provide a range of economic benefits for the local Robroyston area. This includes supporting new jobs for every year of construction and attracting new customers to local businesses from those who choose to live in one of the new homes this development aims to deliver."
