The Federation of Master Builders (FMB) is proud to launch its biennial Master Builder Awards, a national competition that has been running for over 30 years. The awards celebrate high-quality craftsmanship, exceptional customer service and building excellence delivered by Master Builders across the UK.

Despite some of the hard-hitting challenges the industry is now facing, the FMB looks forward to this highlight in our events calendar to celebrate the success of our members, demonstrating their example of perseverance, determination and dedication to the wider industry and to consumers. Whether it's showcasing innovative sustainability, magnificent renovations, quality house building or beautiful commercial projects, the Master Builder Awards is an opportunity for Master Builders to receive the recognition they deserve. Clients can also celebrate their favourite builder who has gone the extra mile by nominating an outstanding individual tradesperson, Master Builder company or even their most exceptional apprentice.

Those entering this national showcase of quality building will be in with a chance of winning the grand prize of an Isuzu D-Max Pick-up worth over £37,000, which has been gifted by the awards headline sponsor. Seven devolved and regional awards ceremonies will be held across the UK in spring 2023, before finalists compete for the overall national titles to be announced in September at a ceremony at London's Grosvenor House hotel, hosted by Nick Knowles.

Brian Berry, Chief Executive of the FMB, said: "This past year has been a tumultuous one, and not least for our hard-working SME builders who have persevered in completing quality building projects despite the shortage in skilled workers, a spike in material costs, and consumers facing cost-of-living pressures. The Master Builders Awards are the Oscars of the building industry showcasing the brilliant work that Master Builders carry out across the UK. It's fantastic to once again be partnering with Isuzu and I strongly encourage all FMB Master Builders to enter, and receive the recognition they deserve. If you're not already a member, there is still time to join and be eligible for the awards."

Ben Lang of Stonewood Group, 2021's overall Master Builder of the Year winner, said: "In 2007, Matt Aitkenhead, Stonewood CEO, and I both said it would be an amazing achievement to win an FMB national award one day, so having won the overall award it has been pretty special for us. It is indicative of how far we have come as a company and as a team. Winning the award was a lovely moment, and something that 14 years ago we would have said would remain aspirational. The award has reassured our team and the group that we are getting better as a result of the growth and we haven't had to sacrifice, compromise or dilute anything to get to this level."

George Wallis, Head of Marketing, Isuzu UK said: "The Master Builder Awards celebrate the best of the UK building industry, and I'm very pleased that Isuzu is once again supporting this great event. The outstanding quality, passion and level of professionalism of Master Builders across the UK and their dedication to craftsmanship and customer service are second to none and I am very much looking forward to reviewing this year's entries. The partnership between the Pick-up Professionals at Isuzu UK and the Master Builders Association is a great fit, with many of their members already benefiting from the smarter, stronger and safer Isuzu D-Max."
