Morrison Construction has marked a significant milestone on Inverness High School's major refurbishment project.
The contractor completed the first phase of works, handing over 14 classrooms along with offices and a brand new state-of-the-art biomass energy centre.
The £14.7 million project is being delivered through The Highland Council's capital programme, with support from the Scottish Government's investment programme. The council's in-house Property Team in Development & Infrastructure is also managing the scheme.
Cllr Andrew Baxter, Chair of the Highland Council's Care, Learning and Housing Committee, said: "This is a major milestone in the Council's programme of refurbishment and renovation of Highland schools. Inverness High School, although an iconic design of its time, was not fully fit for 21st Century education and these works are directly helping to provide a better school that supports our children to have the best start in life."
The entire project is expected to be completed by March 2020.
