Construction work has been completed on a £1.2 million nursery on the Glenbrae Road in Greenock.
Glenbrae's Children’s Centre was built on the site of former social services offices.
The building has been completely refurbished with a new entrance canopy, windows, doors and roof lights installed.
New play spaces have been created outside each playroom including a mix of soft surfaces and decking. The existing car park has also been resurfaced.
The project is part of Inverclyde Council's £270 million school estate investment.
Children will begin moving in to the facility on 19 July.
Head of Centre Joyce Patrick said: "Although the present Glenbrae has served the community well for over forty years, children and staff are excited about the move into the new building, which offers lovely bright facilities.
"We will still remain part of the local community and will continue to provide a quality service to those who use it.
"We are all looking forward to a bright future for our children in our new, improved premises."
Education & Communities Convener Councillor Jim Clocherty added: "Nowhere is it more important than in early years to provide every child with the best possible facilities to begin their education.
"The new Glenbrae centre ticks all of the boxes for providing the perfect place to learn and play and is an important addition to our provision for pre-school age youngsters."
