Plans have been unveiled to create a new housing development in the Hilltown area of Dundee.
Cullross Limited and Caledonia Housing Association (HA) have submitted a planning application to regenerate the former Maxwelltown Works on Alexander Street.
Designed by JMA Architects, proposals include transforming the derelict site with a mixture of rented and low cost homeownership, featuring one- and two-bedroom flats as well as two-, three- and four-bedroom houses.
Cullross said the submitted plans have been designed to be sympathetic to the site's industrial past and the surrounding architecture; contributing positively to the ongoing regeneration of the area with similar projects currently under construction on the opposite side of Alexander Street.
Emma Garry, Development Director at Cullross, said: "It's really exciting to have submitted the planning application for Maxwelltown. This is a site that we have tracked for a while and have been very keen to develop.
"We recently complete homes at the end of Alexander Street on Dens Road, so we know the area well and are keen to contribute in any way we can to the regeneration of Alexander St. It's been a great team effort to put together the planning application and we hope now that the value of what we have put forward will be seen and that the proposals will be supported."
Andrew Kilpatrick, Asset Director at Caledonia Housing Association, said: "Caledonia Housing Association are delighted to be contributing to the ongoing regeneration of the Hilltown area.
"The site provides an ideal location for a mix of low cost home ownership and high quality affordable rent homes and reaffirms Caledonia's commitment to work with Dundee City Council to provide homes and services that make life better."
If approved, work is set to start on site this winter, with the new homes handed over to Caledonia Housing Association by spring 2020.
