Plans have been approved to build 16 new homes in Viewhill, Inverness.
Original plans for the development were refused in 2013, however the decision was appealed by the applicant and permission was granted, subject to conditions and a s75 planning agreement, by a Scottish Government Reporter in 2014.
In January this year, the South Planning Application Committee considered the application and deferred it to allow the applicant to amend the house design to better reflect the Highland context and the Conservation Area.
A number of amendments were then presented to the Committee on 13 March and the motion to approve the application was agreed by majority vote. However, a Notice of Amendment (Planning) was also tabled, which required the proposals to be determined afresh by the Environment, Development and Infrastructure (EDI) Committee.
After considering the Notice of Amendment, the EDI committee voted to approve the application by 12 votes to eight.
