Sweco has expanded its Scottish presence by opening a new office in Edinburgh.
The new 14,000 sq ft facility at Fountainbridge will support the engineering consultancy as it carries out work on a number of projects across Scotland.
Recently, the company was appointed to lead the £113 million Cross Tay Link Road project on the outskirts of Perth, and continues to deliver multi-disciplinary work for the new 1.7 million sq ft Edinburgh St James development. Elsewhere, work is being carried out developing route options for the upgrade of the A96 between Hardmuir and Fochabers.
The firm's new premises will also provide the capacity to increase the company's number of staff employed in Edinburgh to nearly 200.
Following the completion of a number of major transportation projects, which include the new Queensferry Crossing across the Firth of Forth, Sweco is now planning to boost market share for other service lines in the region.
Max Joy, Managing Director at Sweco UK, said: "We have experienced strong continual sustainable growth of our Edinburgh office and this move will provide us with greater capacity to deliver a strong pipeline of new work to existing and new clients.
"Together with providing our transport teams with more capacity to continue to win and deliver large infrastructure contracts across Scotland, this move will enable us to bring in the skills we need to develop and grow other areas of the business in the region."
