ScottishPower Unveils New Partnership

ScottishPower has teamed up with appliance care provider, Domestic & General, as part of its plans to expand into energy services and connected homes.

The collaboration will deliver a portfolio of new products and services under the ScottishPower brand, helping customers who want smarter and greener homes. The first new Domestic & General products will be launched across the UK in 2018.

Recently, the Glasgow-based energy company achieved the milestone of 2 gigawatts of wind power capacity in the UK.

And as ScottishPower now approaches one million smart meter installations, it will form a number of new partnerships with providers next year to build upon the existing provision of home services and support the uptake of electric vehicles, connected home services, and increased home protection.

Neil Clitheroe, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Retail at ScottishPower, said: "The energy retail market in the UK is dramatically changing as we digitise and modernise the hardware and software that support our customers. Billions of pounds are being invested in smart meters, greener energy and smarter grids – and we want customers to benefit fully from these improvements.

"Our partnership with Domestic & General is the beginning of a strategy to form many innovative new relationships that will offer smarter products and services to benefit our customers and put them in control both today and in the future."

Ian Mason, CEO of Domestic & General, added: "We're delighted to be working in partnership with ScottishPower, supporting this initiative. We feel sure that customers will welcome these new products and we are committed to ensuring every customer gets a first class service experience."
