Landslip repair works are underway on the A77 at Cairnryan, Dumfries and Galloway.
The programme is being carried out by Scotland TranServ following the acceleration of complicated groundworks and investigations at the location.
Features include stabilising the embankment supporting the road as well as carrying out improvements to the drainage system and the safety barrier.
Work is due to be completed by the end of February 2018, at which time temporary traffic lights will be removed.
Tony Black, Transport Scotland Project Manager said: "We have been working behind the scenes in order to progress this work.
"The damage caused by landslips can be very difficult to repair as our geotechnical experts have to make sure that the ground is prepared properly to allow the work to be carried-out safely. This complex task is now nearing completion and the next stage is getting underway.
"We would like to thank the local community for their patience across this whole process."
