Residents are being invited to submit their views over a regeneration project in West Lothian.
The Vennel area in Linlithgow is part of the Linlithgow Palace and High Street Conservation Area.
The newly refurbished £4 million Linlithgow Partnership Centre will open this Autumn, becoming home to a range of council, partner and community services. As a result of services relocating to the new centre, a number of council premises at the Vennel will be vacated.
The council will seek alternative short/medium term uses for these properties, whilst longer term plans for the wider Vennel area are developed. Any development would need to be sensitive to the surrounding area, with possible uses including commercial or retail use, tourism facilities, community or outdoor space or residential.
Residents are now encouraged to have their say on ideas for the Vennel. The nine-week consultation will be ongoing until 5pm on Thursday, 24 August.
A Council spokesperson said: "With services such as Linlithgow Library moving to Linlithgow Partnership Centre when it opens soon, it creates an opportunity for redevelopment in the Vennel area.
"We would like to hear the views of local residents and groups on the best use of this important and sensitive site for the town.
"Responses will help guide and influence the future development of the area and identify the detailed criteria upon which the council, as planning authority, would assess any forthcoming proposals against."
