Plans have been revealed to replace a swimming pool as part of a £36 million school campus project in Moray.
Last year, Councillors approved plans to build a new Lossiemouth High School with capacity for 800 pupils, along with community facilities and a swimming pool.
However, officers had recommended to consider excluding a new pool for the plans due to rising costs on the project.
The original scheme was estimated to cost £31m. However, as a result of unforeseen ground conditions and additional works insisted on by the Ministry of Defence due to the close proximity to RAF Lossiemouth, the overall development will cost £36m.
Excluding the new swimming pool would have reduced the projects cost down to £33.5m.
However, Councillors have voted in favour of retaining the pool as part of the overall development.
The new high school is expected to be completed by 2020.
