A new construction employability programme for young people has started in Dundee.
The initiative, now in its third year, will see eight participants learn work experience and secure a guaranteed interview for real employment opportunities in industry.
The programme has been developed by the local authority, along with public and private sector partners such as JobCentre Plus, Advance Construction and Kilmac Construction.
In addition, to health and safety and first aid training, the eight participants have followed courses on plant and vehicle banksman skills, cable avoidance, asbestos awareness, personal safety and conflict management and employability.
This year, Advance Construction has used its new Livingston training base to deliver a number of courses to the group.
Development Director David Wilson said: "We recognise how important community benefits are and we already have an established track record of delivering employability and employment opportunities for young people and vulnerable groups or individuals.
"We work closely across a number of our contracts with key agencies associated with these groups, including Dundee City Council. "
The course is scheduled to conclude at the end of April.
