Argyll and Bute Council is to consider plans for a new pedestrian crossing in Rosneath.
The crossing would be located outside a Co-op store and cost around £20,000 to deliver.
Features include installing new bollards, laying the crossing, installing high friction surface on the approaches and developing a new power supply for the lighting.
It is expected the scheme will be paid for out of the councils roads maintenance budget for Helensburgh and Lomond.
Cllr Robert G MacIntyre said: "With similar pedestrian crossing points in Kilcreggan and Garelochhead it's only right and proper now with the new Co-op and pavement built, and the old community building demolished, we look to move forward with plans for a formal crossing point.
"If this goes ahead it will be good news for Rosneath and another exciting development in the local footway network following last month's news of funding to develop plans for a path between the caravan park and the village."
The council's area committee will meet to discuss the proposal on Wednesday, 14 December.
