A new £5.8 million primary school has been officially opened in South Lanarkshire.
The new Braidwood Primary School was built by Morgan Sindall in Carluke.
The project included seven classrooms spread over 2,000 square metres, including an all-weather multi-use games area.
A number of sustainable elements have been incorporated into the scheme, including the use of sustainable timber. The single storey building has been made from glued laminated timber (Glulam) using a fraction of the energy required to produce its equivalent in steel or concrete.
The project was delivered as part of South Lanarkshire's £812 million Primary Schools Modernisation Programme.
Speaking during the opening ceremony, Head Teacher Colette Scott said: "We have all settled well into this fantastic new building with fabulous resources both inside and out. It's a pleasure to teach and work in and invigorating and exciting to learn in."
