A new proposal has been drawn up which could end an industrial dispute with offshore workers in the North Sea.
Wood Group employees working on seven Shell platforms have been taking strike action since July after rejecting proposed cuts to their pay and allowances.
Unions Unite and RMT suspended strike action on 12 August to allow further negotiations with the company to take place. Following discussions, a proposal has been brought forward which will now be put to members in a ballot next week.
Unite regional officer, John Boland said the proposal is the "best that can be achieved in the current circumstances".
"Throughout this dispute, our members have remained united and strong in defence of their pay and conditions, and we have always made clear that we were open to meaningful negotiations," he said.
"The proposal we are putting to members will still involve a large degree of sacrifice on their part. Wood Group has made concessions on key areas of competency and flexibility payments that will reduce the impact of the cuts they originally put forward."
