Graham Construction has completed a project to deliver a Critical Care Unit (CCU) at Monklands Hospital in Airdrie.
The £5.5 million, 10-bed, state-of-the-art facility has been handed over to NHS Lanarkshire, and is just one of 12 phased work projects the construction company will complete by Spring 2018 as part of an overall £16.6m refurbishment of the hospital.
In addition to the above work, the hospital's current CCU is to be transformed into a purpose-built recovery area.
The CCU is part of a wider £19m refurb and upgrade programme at Monklands Hospital which will see the seven existing operating theatres at the hospital undergo extensive refurbishment.
Gary Holmes, Graham Construction's regional director, said: "The Monkland's CCU is the latest phase of the refurbishment of the hospital delivered by GRAHAM Construction. It will provide advanced care to patients from the region who will benefit from specialist operating theatres and a bespoke recovery area.
"Throughout the project we ensured local people still have full access to the centre which has been a tremendous accomplishment on behalf of the community. GRAHAM is an extensive portfolio of experience in developments for the health sector and looks forward to a continuing relationship with NHS Lanarkshire."
