A total of £155 million is to be invested in capital projects over the next eight years in East Renfrewshire.
The local authority made the announcement as it agreed its 2016/17 budget on Wednesday, 09 March.
Councillors said the move will ensure continued investment across early years, education, health and social care and local communities.
Some of the capital projects to be delivered over the next two years include the £29.8m Barrhead High School, a £18.2m faith schools joint campus in Mearns and £21.9m to improve Barrhead and Newton Mearns road links.
Other schemes include £3.1m in roads investments, £1.4m for kerbisde collection improvements, £13.9m for a new non-denominational primary/nursery in Mearns, £11.5m for a proposed new railway station for Barrhead South and £4.9m to go towards a country park visitor centre.
Council Leader Jim Fletcher said: "I am pleased to be able to announce a balanced budget for 2016/17 and that no compulsory redundancies will be required in this financial year however the financial outlook for ERC going forward is very serious indeed."
