Scottish Water has completed two projects worth £1.3m to help improve a river tributary in Renfrewshire.
The water company completed a £900,000 project to upsize the waste water pipework along New Sneddon Street in Paisley.
The project included the development of a new screened Combined Sewer Overflow (CS) which will reduce pressure on the network and reduce the frequency of spills to the White Cart Water tributary in storm conditions.
In addition, the company completed a £400,000 project to increase the size of a sewer in Blackhall Lane, Paisley.
These works will provide additional storage and reduce the frequency of spills to the White Cart Water from an existing CSO in storm conditions.
Both projects were carried out by contractors George Leslie.
Joanna Peebles, Scottish Water's regional communities team manager, said: "We are delighted to have completed these important environmental improvement projects in Paisley."
