The Jordanhill campus at Strathclyde University in Glasgow is to become a 31-acre residential development.

The University of Strathclyde has put its entire west end campus on the market, with bidders invited to snap up the site, which can accommodate up to 364 homes, including up to 71 apartments.

Nina Stobie, associate director of JLL, who are marketing the site, said: "This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for developers. Jordanhill Campus occupies a prime location in Glasgow and its elevated position offers exceptional views over the city.

"We expect interest in the site to be extremely high and not just limited to Scotland. Once transformed, it will be home to some of the most sought-after accommodation in the country."

Gareth Hoskins Architects prepared a masterplan for the land in 2011 with planners indicating they are minded to grant planning in principle for the redevelopment.
