Improvements to the waste water infrastructure at Queen Margaret Drive in Glasgow are continuing, Scottish Water has confirmed.
Work commenced on the project on 12 January and is expected to last around six weeks. The project will see £150,00 invested to link two existing waste water mains to reduce the risk of flooding at a number of properties in the area, as well as the road carriageway.
In order to allow the work to progress, a section of the road has been closed from its junction with Oban Drive to the junction with Fergus Drive. It will reopen upon completion of the project. Diversions are in place for motorists.
Mark Maclaren, Scottish Water's regional communities team manager, said: "This type of work can't be carried out without some disruption but we can assure road-users, local residents and businesses that we are doing everything possible to minimise any inconvenience. We would stress that any short-term inconvenience will be far out-weighed by the long-term benefits this investment will deliver."
