Seventy-seven new affordable homes have been completed in Larbert, Falkirk.
The properties, developed by Link Housing, have been constructed at Bellsdyke in Larbert. Work on the first phase – 28 homes for social rent – commenced in December 2010, but following additional funding from the Scottish Government and Falkirk Council, a further 49 homes – for social and intermediate rent – were built.
The development includes a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, as well as two- and three-bedroom flats, including two flats specifically for a wheelchair-user.
More than £4.2m has been secured in funding from the project from the Scottish Government, as well as £860,000 from the Innovation in Investment Fund.
Persimmon Homes, all meet Link design standards for affordable housing. Each home has gas central heating and hot water systems, high thermal insulation and double glazing to create warm, comfortable and energy efficient homes that will be easy and economical to run.
Link Group Chairman, Peter Foreman, said: "We are delighted to have been supported by the Scottish Government and Falkirk Council to enable us to continue to build new, high quality homes at rents affordable to people on low or limited fixed incomes. These developments across Falkirk all help to increase the supply of affordable housing in the area."
Councillor Gerry Goldie, Falkirk Council's spokesperson for Housing, added: "This is another development which will bring much needed homes into the area and is another product of the Council and Link working in harmony for the benefit of people who are in desperate need of housing."
