Dundee's Waterfront has been named as the "best place in Scotland" in a new poll.
The landmark is currently undergoing a £1bn regeneration project.
Will Dawson, Convener of Dundee City Council's City Development Committee, said: "As well as thanking all of the people who voted for the waterfront in the poll I want to say how delighted I am that the city and the project are getting the recognition they richly deserve.
"Now that we are all able to see the street pattern emerging it is easier to envisage exactly how spectacular the completed project will be."
The survey was conducted by the Royal Town Planning Institute of Scotland (RPTI Scotland). With support from the Scottish Government, it aimed to identify places throughout Scotland that have been built, enhanced or protected by planners and the planning system since 1914.
An initial 55 entries were narrowed down to a shortlist of 10. Other areas to make the shortlist included Glasgow's Merchant City, Edinburgh's Royal Mile and the West Highland Way. The runner-up was named as Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park.
