A total of £220m is to be invested in new schools and hospitals throughout Scotland, it has been announced.
Finance Secretary John Swinney confirmed the infrastructure would be delivered as part of a £1bn expansion of the Government's non-profit distributing (NPD) programme.
It is understood that £100m will be set aside for the Schools for the Future initiative which will support councils to deliver new and refurbished school buildings.
The additional £120m will go towards two healthcare projects. They are the construction of a new maternity hospital and a new cancer centre.
Both would be part of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary Campus.
Further details regarding the projects will be published in the autumn Draft Budget.
