Fyne Homes has officially opened its new housing development in Lochgilphead, Argyll.
Built on the site of the former Lochgilphead High School and Mid Argyll Hospital, the development consists of 101 units, including 24 extra care units for the elderly and 18 shared equity units.
The homes are energy efficient and have been carried out by local company, MacLeod Construction. Throughout the four-year construction phase, the contractor employed 61 tradesmen and four apprentices.
Argyll and Bute Council contributed £801,000 from its Strategic Housing Fund to the development. Colin Renfrew, Chief Executive of Fyne Homes, said: "The support we received from both the Scottish Government and Argyll and Bute Council was absolutely fantastic.
"These much needed affordable houses have greatly reduced waiting lists in the area as well as creating employment and boosting the local economy."
Scottish Housing Minister Margaret Burgess added: "It's fantastic to visit these new homes in Lochgilphead which are sustainable, safe, warm and energy efficient.
"With a mix of care units for the elderly and shared equity units, this development has homes which especially cater for older people but also give first time buyers the opportunity to step onto the property ladder.
"This new development supports the Scottish Government's commitment to delivering on our target of 30,000 new, affordable homes over the lifetime of this Parliament."
