A date has been set for an appeal hearing that will decide if a housing development in Nairn should go ahead, it has been reported.
Concerns have been raised about the proposals having an impact on local infrastructure due to the size of the development.
Initially, the local authority approved plans for 319 homes to be built off Cawdor Road, Nairn, but this was later withdrawn after it emerged that planning officials had made a mistake.
The development would include 232 houses and 87 flats, constructed by Scotia Homes, Barratt North East Scotland and Robertson Homes. Opposition to the plans are worried however that the scale of the proposals will overwhelm local roads, and a bypass should actually be in place before a development the size of the above is approved.
The hearing regarding the development will be held in Nairn from 9 - 11 June.
