Plans to build a number of community allotments in Dundee are to be heard by the Council's Environment Committee next week.
It is understood the proposals by the Douglas Community Spaces Group could transform the former grounds of Douglas Primary School.
Councillors are now being asked to approve £26,000 of funding for fencing, planters, a shed and pathways at the site. The area would be leased to the community group for the project.
Last year, three pilot community growing projects were approved for areas of multiple deprivation. At the time, Councillors were told that people could grow their own fruit, vegetables and flowers on areas of land in an initiative designed to provide health, community safety and regeneration benefits.
Commenting on the plans, Environment Convener Councillor Craig Melville, said: "I am delighted to see that real progress is being made towards a community allotment in Douglas.
"The proposed infrastructure works will help the group to get their plans off the ground.
"I am keen that people in Dundee get the chance to enjoy positive gains from using currently unused land to grow."
