Perth and Kinross Council is to hold a drop-in event this week to provide information about an energy-saving home insulation project for homes in North Muirton.
The session will be held by the local authority, in partnership with Scottish Hydro Electric, and will allow residents to find out more as well as to register their interest in the scheme.
A total of 389 timber-frames council homes are to be upgraded in North Muirton with external insulation and insulation also available, subject to survey and availability of funds, at no cost for the majority of owner-occupied or private rented homes in the area.
Under the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme, and in conjunction with the Scottish Government's Home Energy Efficiency Programme for Scotland - Area Based Schemes (HEEPS-ABS), grants are now available to help fund this work.
Councillor Dave Doogan, Housing and Health Convener, said: "There are real benefits from the external insulation project. Not only will it be easier and cheaper to keep your home warm, but equally it will improve the appearance of properties.
"I would urge residents to come along on Wednesday to the drop-in session to find out more and sign up to take advantage of the funding on offer."
The session will be held on Wednesday 27 January at the North Inch Community Campus between 9am and 8pm. Those attending should bring two household bills with them as it may be possible to sign up on the day for the scheme.
