A report will be submitted to Perth and Kinross's Environment Committee later this week which will outline plans to improve parks and open spaces in the area.
The main capital projects suggested would be carried out over the next two financial years.
Planned investment for 2014-15 and 2015-16 would be part of the local authority's ongoing programme of works which ensures its green spaces are well used and fit for purpose. The work focusses on refurbishing parks and open spaces and is in addition to routine maintenance work.
Works on parks and open spaces are led by the Council's Community Greenspace team which has already successfully delivered a wide range of projects, such as the major upgrade of MacRosty Park in Crieff to replacing bridges for countryside users and providing waymarked paths. A majority of these projects involve working in close partnership with local communities and raising significant sums of external funding.
The report, which will go before the committee on Wednesday 22 January, identifies park and play area upgrades in communities around Perth and Kinross, replacement of pedestrian bridges on key countryside path networks and continued implementation of the Core Path signage and improvements programme.
Environment Convener, Councillor Alan Grant said: "The Council has committed significant funding in the past few years to ensure it can continue to provide high-quality green spaces that residents and visitors alike can use and enjoy.
"The value of our parks and open spaces for the environment and for communities should not be underestimated. I therefore welcome the proposals outlined in this report for further investment over the next two years."
