Scottish Water is continuing a project to improve the waste water network in St Andrews.
During the early phases of work in the A91, contractors encountered a number of unexpected ground conditions which delayed progress on the schedule. As a result, some of this was delayed until this month.
It is understood that the delays will not have a significant impact on the wider programme of work.
Following a break over the Christmas and New Year period, work is now to resume on the initiative, with contractors George Leslie Ltd approaching the section of work which is required in Grannie Clarks Wynd and The Links.
Andy Ducat, Project Manager at Scottish Water, said: "These two sections of work will require road closures to be put in place. Details of these are as follows:
"Grannie Clarks Wynd road closure will affect the whole of Grannie Clarks Wynd from A91 to The Links. No traffic flow will be permitted at any time along this section of road. This road closure will take place from 20th January 2014 to 31st March 2014.
"The Links road closure will be from Grannie Clarks Wynd to the Junction with Gibson Place. During the closure no traffic will be permitted along this section of road.
"Two-way traffic flow will be permitted from Golf Place, down The Links to Grannie Clarks Wynd and parking restrictions will be in place on this section of The Links. This road closure will take place from 27th January 2014 to 28th April 2014.
"Both these closures are required to allow us to construct new sewers and associated manholes along both streets."
