Private sector landlords in Perth and Kinross, plus their tenants, could be entitled to free help to ensure their homes are warmer and more energy efficient, the Council has said.
The scheme, which is being run by Perth & Kinross Council in conjunction with the Scottish Government and SSE, would see work carried out such as upgrading heating systems, improving electric storage heating, fitting more efficient boilers, a fuel switch from electric to gas heating, or loft and cavity wall insulation.
The local authority has said if tenants currently claim certain qualifying benefits, then the privately-rented property they live in could be entitled to the efficiency works. Alternatively, depending on the benefits received by tenants, as well as the impact the improvements would make to the energy efficiency of the property and the cost of the upgrade, landlords and tenants could receive the work for free or with a very significant discount on the full price.
Housing and Health Convener, Councillor Dave Doogan, said: "Hundreds of private tenants and landlords will be able to take advantage of this opportunity. They can receive a subsidy under the project, depending on the type of existing heating they have and the size of the house.
"These improvements will help keep their homes warmer for longer and help significantly reduce residents' energy bills. I would strongly encourage landlords and tenants to check whether they are eligible for this assistance."
Landlords and tenants are asked to contact SSE here to see if they qualify.
The partnership project is being led by the Council under the Scottish Government's Home Energy Efficiency Programmes Area Based Schemes (HEEPS-ABS) and the Energy Company Obligation (ECO).
