It has been reported that the Ministry of Defence (MoD) and RSPB Scotland have withdrawn their objections to a proposed wind farm in Angus.
The 17-turbine development was planned for the Careston Estate, near Brechin, and could power up to 28,400 homes.
Previously, the MoD said the plans could interfere with radar systems for RAF Leuchars, while the animal charity raised concerns that the development could adversely affect the local golden eagle population.
However, according to the BBC, Eurowind has said that following detailed bird population modelling work, which was carried out at the request of the RSBP, the charity's objection to the Nathro wind farm development had been fully withdrawn. It added that the concerns raised by the MoD had also been addressed and allayed.
Ian Lindsay, Director of Eurowind is quoted as saying: "We are delighted that Nathro Hill wind farm has received a clean bill of health from both RSPB and the MoD.
"It's important that a wind farm that will make such a major contribution to Scotland's energy security and environmental goals, can co-exist happily with the needs of national security and wildlife."
A final decision on whether the plan will go ahead or not, is to be decided by Scottish minister next year.
