A news survey has claimed that the number of privately-funded housing projects are increasing.
According to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), said about a third more chartered surveyors reported increases in work for the three months to September when compared with the previous quarter.
It added that this was the highest rise since 2007, with each part of the UK recording growth.
Overall, the survey also suggests that workloads in the construction sector increased at its strongest rate for five years, while employment hopes were also strengthened, with more surveyors saying they expected more jobs to be created over the next year.
Sarah Spiers, Director of RICS Scotland, said: "While it's certainly good news that construction, and especially house building, is finally on the rise right across Scotland, we are certainly not out of the woods yet.
"Critically, we are still way behind in terms of building enough homes to meet the nation's growing housing need."
