Planning Councillors in the Scottish Borders are to consider applications for three separate wind farms developments, the BBC has reported.
The first development is for nine 100m-high turbines to be constructed at Shawpark, close to the existing Long park wind farm, while the second application is for an 11-turbine extension of the Crystal Rig farm located on the Berwickshire-East Lothian border.
There are also proposals for a 213-turbine wind farm off the Angus coast. It is understood the closest turbine in the development would be more than 30 miles from the Scottish Borders coastline.
Council officers have voiced a recommendation that the planning authority rejects the Shawpark application, on landscaping grounds. The other two developments will be decided by the Scottish Government, but Councillors are being advised to make no objections to the plans.
