Dunfermline is preparing to switch on its new floodlights which have been erected across the city.
The new floodlighting, which has been designed to showcase the city's historic buildings and features, will be switched on at the City Chambers on Saturday 12 October at 7.30pm.
They will be switched on by the Scottish rock band Nazareth.
Acting Chair of the City of Dunfermline Area Committee, Councillor Helen Law, is encouraging locals to attend the event, which begins at 5.30pm with a roadshow.
She added: "The council has contributed £145,000 towards this project that will see new lighting around iconic buildings and land marks in the city centre.
"The City Chambers, Glen Gates, Andrew Carnegie statue, Dunfermline Abbey and Carnegie Library are just some of the buildings now benefitting from the new floodlighting and uplighters that will showcase their historically significant features and help improve the appearance of the city at night. And new lighting will also transform the tree lined avenue leading to Carnegie's statue."
Maggie Mitchell, Chief Executive of Dunfermline Delivers, continued: "This ambitious project, to shine a light on Dunfermline's most iconic landmarks, is a reflection of the ambition our members have for Dunfermline.
"By projecting what is unique about the City, we can creative a distinctive positioning which builds preference amongst our many audiences from shoppers to cultural visitors to business investors. It is part of a plan to drive Dunfermline forward."
