Plans to build a new £2.5m visitor centre on the western shores of Loch Ness have been suspended, according to the BBC.
Jacobite Cruises, which runs cruises on the loch, was granted full planning permission in 2011 for the proposed building at Brackla.
In a statement, the company said it would suspend the development as it was working with another business on upgrading existing facilities. It added that increasing costs were among the reasons for the decision to delay the project.
The BBC has said Jacobite Cruises has entered into an agreement with Robert Bremner, who runs the Loch Ness Centre and Exhibition and Clansman Hotel. Mr Bremner plans to upgrade the centre, which Jacobite Cruises said would benefit the harbour it uses on the loch.
