A new £11.2m integrated policing facility for Police Scotland is continuing to take shape following the completion of the base of the 4,518sq m building, Urban Realm has said.
The custody centre, which is situated at Kitty Brewster in Aberdeen, will host 60 cells as well as a virtual court, identity parade suite and accommodation for a local community policing team.
The development has been designed by Ryder Architectural through hub North Scotland and the building is located 2km north of the city of Aberdeen on a former Scottish Water depot.
The facility will be split across two floors, with secure areas situated in the basement and the office facilities above, while each section will also have its own separate entrance.
Clad in pre-cast concrete panels and curtain wall glazing, the pavilion style structure will face its own entrance plaza and sits beneath a sedum roof.
The new centre has been given a scheduled completion date of early 2014.
