Moray Council has confirmed work is to begin on a number of roads within the area in an effort to improve infrastructure.
The work is part of the council's annual roads maintenance programme and will see a number of roads redressed.
Sections of road are undergoing surface dressing, which prevents roads from deteriorating from wear through traffic as well as improving surface texture.
Around 45 miles of rural and urban routes are being redressed as part of this year's maintenance programme.
Senior roads technician Mike O’Brien said: "We are very much aware that we are undertaking the redressing programme during the tourist season and we will endeavour to keep disruption to a minimum for local people and visitors alike.
"Unfortunately surface dressing has to be done in the summer months because the application of hot bitumen requires warmer road surface temperatures and relatively dry weather."
Work is expected to last for the next nine weeks.
