Part of a £1.2m infrastructure scheme has been completed in Inverclyde.
The latest investment in Port Glasgow saw the creation of a new park and ride facility for the town centre.
Funding from the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) enabled Inverclyde Council to transform the former Highholm Primary School site into the new facilities.
The project was managed by Inverclyde Council's Environmental and Commercial Services Roads staff following the demolition of the former school.
A total of 150 free parking spaces, including eight disabled spaces, have been created along with a new entrance, lighting and CCTV monitoring. The pedestrian route from the park and ride to the entrance of Port Glasgow Railway Station has also been improved.
Speaking of the project, Council Leader Councillor Stephen McCabe said: "With the improvements to Port Glasgow’s bus station also completed the town now has public transport facilities to be proud of. As a Council we are committed to investing over £3 million to improve and transform Port Glasgow town centre and these new facilities complement our ambitious plans."
