Aberdeenshire homeowners are being encouraged to apply for free loft and cavity wall insulation through the Scottish Government's Universal Home Insulation Scheme (UHIS).
The scheme is being delivered by Aberdeenshire Council in conjunction with SCARF (Save Cash and Reduce Fuel) and the Scottish Government for people who want to make their homes more energy efficient to reduce energy consumption and bills.
UHIS is a free service and not means tested, meaning all homeowners can apply.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Social Work and Housing Committee Councillor Karen Clark said: "With the wintry weather conditions continuing I am sure that the news the deadline for applications for the free insulation scheme has been extended to March 28 will get a warm welcome.
"Rising energy costs are a real problem for many people and anything that can mitigate this is positive news so please apply if you haven’t already done so. It is part of many activities the council undertakes to help people in fuel poverty."
Homeowners are encouraged to apply by Thursday 28 March and applications will be dealt with on a first come, first served basis.
