The Highland Council has completed six new council homes in Dornie as part of a 257-house Highland-wide building project.
The six homes form part of a second phase of affordable housing which was built in partnership with Lochalsh and Skye Housing Association and is supported by the Scottish Government.
Councillor Dave Fallows, Chairman of the Finance Housing and Resources Committee, said: "Finding good quality housing can be difficult, especially in more rural areas. It's great to have such a large and varied build programme across the Highlands; every new house we build answers someone's prayer for an affordable, comfortable home which they can call their own."
Each of the new homes is heated with an air source heat pump and has been built to meet energy efficient building standards.
The Association built nine homes in Dornie; six are for rent and three are for sale through a shared equity home ownership model. The six homes recently finished are for rent and consist of two family homes and four cottage flats. In addition to these, the development also includes a new play park for the area.
The cost for the Council’s six units was £660,000 with £180,000 in grant monies from the Scottish Government.
