The public will get to have their say on the new Madras College development on a site at Pipeland, Fife, as the council launches a consultation on the proposals.
Two public meetings are to take place during the consultation; the first on the evening of the 12 February at Madras Kilrymont from 18:00 – 20:00.
This will be followed by the second on Tuesday 19 February at Blyth Hall, Newport from 18:00 to 20:00.
The meetings are being held as part of the current consultation which involves parents, pupils, staff and other interested parties.
The proposal is to build a new, £40m facility at Pipeland which will have been purpose-built for current learning and teaching.
Design concepts such as the use of natural light and open spaces, together with environmental and technology considerations are proposed for the new Madras College.
Cllr. Bryan Poole, Spokesperson for Education, Children, Young People and Families said: "It is now time for the most important stakeholders - the pupils of Madras and its feeder primaries and their parents, teachers and other interested parties - to have their say. This is decision time and I would want as many as possible of the aforementioned stakeholders to participate in that decision.
"The public meetings will allow people to ask questions and find out more about what a new school can offer young people and staff, and I would encourage everyone to make their voice heard. This will help us to ensure that we are making the right decision for Madras College pupils of today and into the future."
Joe Fitzpatrick, Head of Education (East), said: "Staff and pupils at Madras College have been working hard under the constraints of a split-site for many years, and being able to come together on one site will allow them to further improve and develop the excellent work undertaken at Madras. In addition to this, the learning and teaching opportunities which will exist for staff and pupils in a building which has been specifically designed and built for a 21st century education are extensive."
