A public consultation is underway in Angus this week on the proposed boundary changes to Kirriemuir Conservation Area.
This marks the first changes to the town’s conservation area boundaries for more than 40 years.
It is hoped that the changes will reflect alterations and developments in the area during those years, according to Angus Council.
The move follows an agreement by the Council Infrastructure committee at a recent meeting to run the public consultation from 4 February to 18 March 2013.
A public meeting to discuss the proposals will be held at 19:00 on Wednesday 27 February in the hall at the Glens and Old Parish Church, Bank Street, Kirriemuir.
Residents will be given the chance to voice their opinions on the proposals and will be able to view a map and documentation on the boundary changes at Kirriemuir library and County Buildings in Forfar, where there will be comment forms available.
Comments can also be submitted online under the Have Your Say section of the council’s website.
The document provides an opportunity to inform residents about the special needs and characteristics of the area and help developers identify and formulate development proposals.
