Aberdeenshire homeowners could be in line for a warmer winter, at no extra cost.
The council has announced a scheme which will see residents supplied with loft and cavity wall insulation for free.
The Scottish government’s Universal Home Insulation Scheme (UHIS) will provide free loft and cavity wall insulation to residents who want to reduce energy consumption.
Aberdeenshire Council is delivering the scheme in conjunction with SCARF (Save Energy and Reduce Fuel).
Loft insulation and cavity wall insulation can help improve energy efficiency in homes. UHIS is a free service and is not means-tested, meaning all homeowners can apply.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 28 February, with the loft and cavity wall insulation provided for free on a first come, first served basis.
Chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s Social Work and Housing Committee, Cllr Karen Clark, said: "This is a great scheme which will be of real benefit to many households who are faced with rising energy costs.
"Providing better insulation within homes will help reduce energy consumption, and that is a very good thing. I’d encourage anyone who is looking for better insulation to apply to this scheme."
SCARF Chief Executive Billy Sloan added: "The Universal Home Insulation Scheme will give households the chance to install better insulation for free.
"With the recent rise in fuel prices, it is great that Aberdeenshire Council is offering free insulation to help reduce bills. I'd urge people to make the most of this offer while it is available."
