Aberdeen City Council has released a blueprint proposal on the future development of the Hopecroft area of Bucksburn for public consultation.
The Council is seeking the views of the public and interested parties on the Hopecroft Planning Brief.
The Brief defines a framework for future development on the 3.3 hectare site in the north-west of the city, setting out development and design principles.
The Council says the Brief highlights the need for a new residential development in keeping with the surrounding neighbourhood in terms of density and housing mix, while respecting elements of the existing landscape.
The Hopecroft Planning Brief is also based on connectivity and accessibility and focuses on pedestrian and cycle movement and the use of shared surfaces.
The Hopecroft site is in agricultural use and has been identified in the Aberdeen Local Development Plan as suitable for residential development.
The document is available to view online at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/consultations or at www.aberdeencity.gov.uk/masterplanning.
The consultation period closes at noon on Thursday, 31 January. Responses will be reported to the Development Management Sub-Committee when it meets next month.
