Inverurie residents are being given the chance to find out about a new £8m care village planned for the Aberdeenshire town.
Aberdeenshire Council is inviting residents to view the proposals, which include a 60-bed care home and eight associated one and two-bedroom bungalows, along with specialist dementia, respite and complex care facilities to replace the current accommodation at Blythewood House.
The public event will be held at the council chambers in Gordon House, Inverurie on 10 January 2013 from 18:00.
The event includes a short presentation giving information on the concept of the care village. Residents will also have a chance to view plans of the site.
Head of Older People and Disabilities, Patricia Maclachlan, said: "The care village concept is something we know that older people want, and this is evidenced by extensive research we have carried out, as well as work undertaken with our health and care partners.
"We consulted with the local in October 2011 and we are now looking to go back and share the finalised plans.
"We were delighted to open our first 60-bed home in Stonehaven in December 2012 and we are looking forward to emulating the project’s success in Inverurie."
