Work on the Crieff Recycling Centre is progressing well councillors announced after visiting the North Forr site to view redevelopments.
The new facility being built at the existing Council depot is set to improve facilities for local residents and Council operations staff.
The redevelopment is being carried out to increase the amount and types of recyclable materials accepted - including paper, timber, metal, plastic and cardboard.
Amongst the changes being made to the centre is a new access road, new recycling points and bays and a waste transfer station building.
Works on the recycling area drop off point and the foundations for the canopy building that will cover the drop-off area for bulky waste and recyclates have already been completed.
The redevelopments will ensure the Council pushes towards National and European targets for waste and recycling, as well as ensuring that users of the site have modern and well designed facilities.
Environment Convener, Councillor Alan Grant said: "This redevelopment of Crieff Recycling Centre has been planned for a number of years now, and it is great to see the progress that has already been made to ensure this site can offer residents a high quality recycling resource. These facilities will help push the recycling and composting rate up by offering outlets for materials such as scrap metal, timber and glass."
